FAQ
Describe your coaching style.

Although I am ICF trained, my coaching style differs somewhat from the ICF methodology. I must initially establish trust with the coachee. I then begin building a relationship by finding commonality with our personal experiences. I ask important questions, sometimes very tough questions, to get to the root of the issues. I am easy to talk to, approachable, create a psychologically safe environment, and focus on initial coaching goals established by all stakeholders. These goals sometimes shift during the coaching journey, and I adapt as needed.

Who is your ideal client and why?

I love coaching people at every level of a company and I am truly industry agnostic. However, the ideal client is the one who sees coaching as a proactive experience, one that invests in their talent, offering them the opportunity to increase self-awareness and hone the skills necessary to grow careers.

How do you measure success with a client?

Success is measured by evaluating the desired outcomes. The stakeholders (company sponsor, immediate manager/supervisor and coachee) and I meet in person at the beginning of the coaching engagement and define goals and timetables. I do a 3 month evaluation to ensure we are on track and then a thorough review of outcomes at the completion of the engagement.

What is your coaching superpower?

I can really read people well. With 40 years of HR leadership under my belt, I know instinctively when someone is fabricating a response or holding back. I know when to speak and when to listen. I can reach into my mental toolkit and pull out questions that will steer someone onto the right path.
