How long should I expect to work with Placement?

The timeline can vary quite a bit. If you are early in your career, want to go fast, and targetting roles with many openings, it can be done in 2-3 months. If you want to take your time as a seasoned executive, it could take up to 9-12 months. We are also happy to continue working with you after you're hired so you continuously get promoted from there.

I thought Placement had an income share?

Good question. Placement used an income share in the past. We stopped using it for a few reasons.

1. Having skin in the game is very helpful to create a successful partnership between us and our clients. It also feels better for most people.

2. Income shares can be a very expensive form of financing. If you truly can't afford Placement upfront, there are cheaper financing options available than the terms of the income share model we offered.

Can I try before I buy?

On account of very high demand, we don't currently offer a free trial. If you'd like to say hello to your Talent Agent before you sign up, you can email [email protected] to schedule a free 15-minute conversation.

Do you give referral credit?

Yes, we do. You can nominate someone for Placement via this link: Nomination Form.

If your nominee signs up as a Pro client, we'll give you $50 in credit to Placement!

Your nomination can be anonymous if you like.

What is Placement's cancellation policy?

You can cancel your membership at any time through the "Membership" setting in your Placement account. Canceled memberships will maintain access through the end of the current billing period.

Is it for Me?
Does it matter if I'm currently employed?

Nope. We make it easier to job search regardless of whether you're employed or not.

Can you help me get a remote job?

Yes! We have strong experience helping US-based members land 100% remote jobs. It's easy to use the app to search for remote roles.

Is it OK if I don’t have a college degree?

Yes! In fact, we're passionate about helping people be successful who don't look perfect on paper.

Is it OK if I don’t have a US work visa?

Yes. We're able to support you in your job search. We don't have any specialized support to help with visa situations, however.

Which industries do you support?

The funny thing about job searching is it's 80% the same regardless of what industry you're in. We pride ourselves on being open to all.

That said, we have the most experience with the following sectors: business, technology, financial services, non-profit, healthcare.

Do you help new grads?

Yes! We've helped hundreds of new grads. :)

Do you support executives?

Yes, we do. We have some Talent Agents in particular that have strong experience partnering with executives.

I’m an employer. Do you charge fees?

No! We do not charge employers. There are no fees for hiring from our network. No placement fees, no contingency fees, nothing.

We are happy to make friendly referrals any time there's an opportunity.

Can I join the team at Placement?

Can you guarantee Placement will work?

No, we're not able to guarantee that you'll get a job or an increase in compensation. We can't control whether employers will offer you a job, or how much they pay.

What is included with Placement Pro?

With Placement Pro, you get end-to-end support for your job search. That includes:

  1. Kickoff Call with your Talent Agent to create a plan

  2. Unlimited text messaging with your Talent Agent to unblock you in real-time

  3. Proactive support from your Talent Agent to keep you accountable

  4. Periodic video check-ins with your Talent Agent

  5. Offer negotiation assistance

  6. Unlimited interview practice feedback from your Talent Agent

  7. Unlimited access to all Placement workshops

  8. Unlimited access to all Placement software and content

No matter where you are in your job search, Placement Pro can help you achieve your goals.

How does the free trial work?

You get a 7-day free trial when you start with Placement Pro. In order to activate your membership, you have to select a Talent Agent and input your payment information. At the end of your 7-day free trial, your credit card will be automatically charged.

If you don't want to continue with Placement Pro after your trial, you can cancel anytime in the Placement app by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner, then clicking "Membership", and then clicking "Cancel Subscription".

How does the billing cycle work?

Your Placement Pro membership is a monthly commitment. The subscription starts on the day that you activate your subscription and will renew on that day each month until you cancel.

When you cancel your membership, you will continue to get access to Placement Pro through the end of your current billing cycle. After canceling your membership, we will not bill you again and you will lose access to your Pro benefits at the end of the billing cycle.

Canceling your Placement Pro membership is easy. You can do it anytime from the Placement website.

Can I change my Talent Agent?

Yes. Running an effective job search requires you and your Talent Agent to establish mutual trust. If you don't feel like the first Talent Agent you meet is the right person to support your process, we are happy to arrange a Kickoff Call with a new Talent Agent. Just email us at [email protected]
